"The US is increasingly viewed as a "culture-free zone" inhabited by arrogant and unfriendly people, according to study of 25 countries' brand reputations."
The price of acting like an empire is that many of your subjects start disliking who you are. Perhaps it has something to do with embracing nuclear weapons as America tries to force other countries to abandon their nuclear programs.

Did you see the story a few weeks ago on the US Uni students in Qld complaining of anti-American bias? They thought everyone would just love them for being American; they believed their country' press.
Unfortunately, no-one else does.
I've always thought the best way to counter them is to, en masse, stop buying their products. If we could get all the people the world over who are revolted by this administration (a large majority) to think about ways of changing their consumption or investment habits to reflect their beliefs, they would be on their knees in months.
Could you send me the link about that situation in Qld? Sounds hilarious...
Anti-American feeling is running so high that when, not if, the empire starts to crumble, the US may find it has less friends than it thought. ie. less ability to buy them off.

I saw it at Mark Bahnisch's blog -
