Bedtimes stories

"What does America think of Australia, Daddy?" asked the curious child. "I need to know. I need reassurance. I need credibility in the eyes of my fellow empire-builders. I want to be told that we need more tanks and bombs and bombers. I need to be reassured that George W. Bush likes what we're doing, approves of every move and encourages even stronger relations. I want to be told that the noble missions in Iraq and Afghanistan are indeed noble and right. Where can I find some answers, Daddy?"

"Son, Rupert Murdoch has all the answers. Sit tight, grab a warm beverage, and relax."

I am sure that Sheridan is a c*ck sucker par excellence and when he does it to GW Bush and Rumsfeld he must swallow and beg for more. I think he's done the whole cabinet.

Sheridan is well-respected in elite circles, a man who can be relied upon to tow the line and reports His Master's Voice.
Journalism, indeed.

Yes...Sheridan could take lessons from this sort of hard-hitting journalism!

Come on now, read the last 3 articles by Sheridan, if you don't feel like gagging there's some thing wrong with you.

You can knock him all you like Shab, but when Pilger arrives to give talks, there is standing room only.

He has influenced many people and brought attentino to many ills of the world.

But that proabably means little to someone who probabyl idolises Hannity and O'Reilly.

Hey, Addamo, my issue isn't with Pilger (at least not here); it's with Anty's incredibly suck-up journalism thereof.

Sorry Shab. My bad.

I must admit, if I were intervewing the guy, I think I would find it a tad intimidating. Pilger is remarkable, but he doesn't suffer fools. In fact, he seems to becomming less tolerant of interviewers. Probably because he's always treated like the dissenting voice.

I was waiting for mention of the benefits of chemical weapons. SEE MY NEW BLOG "gigilo pete" TO FIND OUT).

But I am sadly disappointed.

Jeeez, let me explain.
The Pilger interview was very long, the paper cut it down, and that was published. That interview section in the paper is supposed to be a casual chat, no more, no less.
Sheridan is a paid-up member of the propaganda class.

Smiths, I concur. And it's been interesting to watch lately as Sheridan has moved from his foreign affairs brief to a position where he comments more widely on any social issue he cares to.
