A leading African journalist says that Western media still portrays his continent in terms of "disasters, its evil men" and as a "backward continent."
Baffour Ankomah says that Western journalists still prefer to see Africa through 19th century eyes, a savage continent with seemingly endless wars and with no connection to Western imperial interests.

Good grief, that article makes me look coherent by comparison!
He cited the latest case of bombings that hit London, which the British government immediately blamed on terrorism and the Al Qaeda network and which the British media unquestioningly took in "hook, line and sinker."
Gosh, who did it?
Apart from claims of misrepresenting the situation with journalism in Zimbabwe, I couldn't find in the article evidence of inaccurate (or even biased) reporting as opposed to negative reporting.
It also sounds like the person being interviewed is pro-Mugabe. Considering what Mugabe has done, I'd take what he says with a grain of salt.
