Israel and Saddam

Did Israel lead the US into the war on Iraq? The US-based Jewish Voice for Peace examines this rarely discussed issue.

Israel's security is clearly a major factor in this debate. Many leading Americans, Jewish and non-Jewish, believe that the interests of Israel and America coincide. The Jewish state is not the leading factor in shaping US Middle East policy yet maintaining and reinforcing Israel is a clear goal of every US administration.

If the US is damaged from this war, Israel's hands are equally bloodied.

Sorry, but you'll have to lay blame elsewhere. All Israel was concerned with was the payments to suicide bombers.

Israel did not lead the US into war with Iraq. Bush just wanted revenge for his father who stupidly failed to wipe Saddam from the face of the earth during GW I.

But it is not unlike you to come up with more conspiracies to make up for your birth.

Whenever your arguments are pulled apart Ibraham, your logic goes down the drain and you start using personal attacks. You are too predictable Ibraham. Perhaps it's time you startes using a new tactic.

Revenge his father? You are hilarious Ibraham. is that what he told Congress? is that what he told the UN? Is that what he said during his SOTU speech? Talk about conspiracy theories. That was discredit long ago.

Bush just did what he was told.

Israel did not lead the US into the Iraq war. But some zionist crazys in the Bush admin as well as their cheer-squad in the media did. They had been advocating for invasion of Iraq well before 9/11 and wanted to invade Iraq after 9/11 before dealing with Afganistan.

Thanks Judith Miller, Bill Kristal, Dougals Feith, Wolfowitz, Perle et al.

You are right. It would be wrong to accuse Israel itself, so much as speacial inetersts who are mindful of the benefits to Israel.

Even then, anyone looking to argue that Iraq was about Israel would be mistaken if not to realise that Iraq was about a convergence of many interests - the Straussian neocons, big oil, Cheney's energy task force, the military industrial complex, Halliburton/Bechtel, political one upmanship, gepopolitical consolidation etc.

Please, addamo, if you're going to be a moron, hold up a sign.

Brian, indeed, most in that group wanted to make up for allowing Saddam to thumb his nose at America for a long time. All they needed was a reasonable excuse.

Sure I'll hold us a sign that says, "Ibraham - Master of sefl delusion".

Nobody has the ability to explore the depths of denial quite like you Ibraham.

That group didn;t wait for an excuse, they merely jumped on an opportunity to deceive and distract the masses. A bit like your trying to do, only much much better.

Clearly there were a number of motivating factors behind the invasion of Iraq. To attempt to single out the main factor is moot really, we'll never know. But to claim that Israel wasn't a consideration is naive and to claim that the sole motivating factor was revenge is to oversimplify to a remarkable degree.

To claim there was NO motivation concerning Israel is indeed naive, but to claim there was so much that israel now has iraqi blood on its hands for it is just an excuse to throw out a little more antisemitism.

But what else does one expect from vermin like addamo?

Blood on Israel's hands. Did I say that? Damn, must have another one of those blackouts.

What I did say was "It would be wrong to accuse Israel itself, so much as speacial inetersts who are mindful of the benefits to Israel."

And I also made sure to mention those INTERESTS (not Israel itself), should sahre the balme with....big oil, Cheney's energy task force, the military industrial complex, Halliburton/Bechtel, political one upmanship, gepopolitical consolidation etc.

You shoud try reading what I write before hitting the reply button some time.

I find this interesting Ibrahim. Tell me, do you think the state of Israel ever does anything morally wrong? If so, what?

And you can stick it up your ass with the apples and oranges you so desperately compare.

Well does the state of Israel ever do anything morally wrong or not (in your humble opinion)?

Simple question. Please don't tell me you're too scared to answer, yet again?

(Oh, and please don't bother with the "antisemite antisemite antisemite" answer. I think I've heard you say that one before.)

One thing about Ibby - his vocabulary doesn't extend beyond the words anti-semite and vermin.
This really makes cogent argument on any level with him quite out of the question - he is illiterate, uneducated and rude in the extreme, and all he can say is anti-semite - what a vast range of words to use in making your arguments!
