One major step back

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice predicts that this week’s Iraqi elections will bring the most democratic government "in the entire Middle East."

Israel has been officially side-lined as an autocracy.

Well I wouldn't think anything of Rico's omission. She knows Israel is democratic compared to most (all?) others in the Middle East.

America's friends, by they Australia or Israel, are used to being taken for granted.

We mustn't forget that Iraq has got so much oil (and we don't) that imposed D-emokracy is worth every US bullet.

We should consider ourselves lucky that we are not a target of such special "love and care".

Israel is a democracy for all of it's citizens, as with the US, Mexico, England, Russia, France, Australia, etc... resident aliens do not have the right to vote.

Physically but not psychotically? As we are of the asylum but not in the asylum?

Well I'd vote for Condi personally.

I think there's more to her than just being one of ol'Dubya's team.

There's just gotta be a moderate soul there somewhere. Just gotta!

Visions of Condi in hot leather aside.

She's got brains, but tied down by Bush's amorality. She's not one of the boys.

All politicians are corrupt and deceitful mouthpieces, but her very potential to rattle the smug cage of the US, by virtue of her being female and black, may well make Condi worth voting for.

Vive le difference!
