There are no moderate palestinians. The moderate Israeli wants nothing but the separation of the palestinian from contact in Israel. This has nothing to do with the 1.2 million Arab citizens of Israel, but the apparant typical palestinian who longs for the destruction of Israel.
Hopefully Sharon will complete this separation and Israelis will no longer be barraged with the sermons from the palestinian mosques with their 'death to the Jews' cries.
You and the vast majority of palestinians have an unrealistic understanding of 'just peace'. The israelis know that and will deal with it through separation.
If it doesn't work, they'll try something else.
Exactly how many "indiscriminate shootings by Jewish zealots" are there each year?
Why hasn't somebody offered this solution before? It's perfect. Palestinian wishes are irrelevant and Israel can dictate terms. Hang on, that's been happening for decades already.
Maintaining a brutal occupation for nearly 40 years doesn't exactly give Israel much sympathy in my book, nor in many others. Responsibility lies on all sides, agreed, but never forget who is occupied and who is the occupier.
There is an interesting conflict in the arguments of the Zionist psychopaths on this list. If the occupied territories were won by military conquest then violent resistance is entirely commensurate. What are ZIonists complaining about then? And where does that leave the argument that God handed it over to them some several thousand years ago? And all this on entirely racial grounds (apart from the ersatz lot masquerading as Jews for the benefit of an Israeli passport.) Zionists as the new Nazis. The lineage is transparent.
Ladies and gentleman, I think we have yet another Arab-hater, with vast experience in the Middle East and a host of Muslim friends. And people wonder why the West is accused of arrogance...
While I admire Lefty's zeal, and I understand her frustration, I would love for her to better articulate her position.
Israel does not, in a legal sense, occupy what has come to be known as the West Bank and Gaza. They wrested it from the nations who were occupying those regions. However, Israel does occupy the Golan Heights.
The Arab nations have done a tremendous damage in not allowing absorbtion of the Palestinian 'refugees' into their countries. Additionally, the UN, by creating these singular organizations devoted to the palestinians encourage continuing the problem to justify their existance. And the palestinians demands themselves guarentee no end to the struggle.
Add that to the many antisemites in the world today and you will see why this problem will extend far past the next century.
You clearly express your 'feelings' in which I sympathize. And in reading those, and in rereading some of your posts on this thread, I may have been to hasty in my judgement (which was based on your comments on another thread, which one I can't recall)

Yup - real Israeli moderates and Palestinians always run the risk of being runover by a certain former General.

Indeed they are. Now since eddie so linked them together, how many "indiscriminate shootings by Jewish zealots" are there each year?
And I presume we can include the IDF in that figure?
AL, If you wish to presume something antisemitic, it is your blog. It won't be the first you have done so.
Again eddie, how many "indiscriminate shootings by Jewish zealots" are there each year?

So Israel isn't actually running an occupation? That position isn't even shared by Ariel Sharon anymore, but keep those delusions going.

Where do these Zionist nutters come from?
They must breed them in Jewish schools and synagogues around the world.

And you'll be providing as much misleading information as you do now.
Back then, Jews were festering in Cyprus, and being murdered in Poland for daring to return from the camps.
