Boring and predictable

Is brave cultural warrior and Howard government mouthpiece Gerard Henderson capable of mounting an argument without resorting to damning the Left and reasserting those visionary conservative values?

No, didn't think so. And no wonder most Australians care little for such faux battles.

I've been reading for a while about the 'real story' behind 9/11. I gotta say, i damn suspicious. The official investigation had major holes, to be sure, but controlled explosions? Can we really believe the US govt was behind this? Kinda enters nutter territory...but my mind is always open and I'll read anything that puts the case.

60 science and engineering professors from Unis across the midwest want the investigation re-opened - all feel the official (and apparently obvious) explanation for the falling towers does not hold water. There is some subterranean scenario at work here and it will be ugly when it emerges.

Back to Hendo - today was a classic. He says 'What is interesting about the debates on national security and IR is how few articulate commentators have been prepared to support the Howard govt on one or both issues'

The poor bloke is either incapable or just unwilling to see the obvious explanation for this. The proposals are dogs and anyone who embraces them will end up with fleas. But dear old Gerry scratches his head about it as if it's some giant conundrum.

I guess it's hard to smell a seachange in Howard's public image when you're embedded in his backside.
