Heads in the sand

Who says the US authorities in Iraq are clueless? Evidence for the prosecution:

"Paul Bremer, who led the U.S. civilian occupation authority in Iraq after the 2003 invasion, has admitted the United States did not anticipate the insurgency in the country, NBC Television said on Friday."

For a leading US official to admit that the Bush administration failed to appreciate the likely backlash to an illegal and brutal occupation proves the ideological blindness of the mission. Resistance to occupation has been a feature of virtually every invasion in the history of warfare.

All Bremmer and co had to do was read Dubya's daddy's book to find out that an insurgency was likely.

The Bushies ar good at ignoring warnings. The August 2001 PDB, and predictions abotu likely failures of flod prptection in NO are other examples.

Not to mention, picking fights will Motadr al-Sadr, putting people out of work and misplacing US$9 billion of Iraqs money.
